When the Hermosillo family bought a certified organic lavender farm near Dungeness Bay, friends and family said, “What?!” Free-spirited and constant travelers, farming was the last thing anyone expected Marco and Christa to do. A university administrator and a biochemist by trade, along with their 6 year old “fashionista” daughter (Raquel) and 3 year old “race car driver” son (Cruz), decided that getting back to America’s agricultural roots would be their next big adventure. Researching and growing lavender the past six years, they bought Olympic Lavender Heritage Farm in 2013 to extend their current fields from 5 to 10 acres in Dungeness. With a new website and brand, a newly renovated boutique store, and new lavender products and gifts, this 19 year old lavender farm is starting a new life with a new family and future in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley. Come rediscover Olympic Lavender!
The original farm boutique is still going strong after all these years and features all of the Olympic Lavender Co. line of products. The farm boutique is located on the main farm on the Dungeness Scenic Loop Drive by the waterfront. This is the main destination for tourists, shopping, educational demonstrations and festival events throughout the summer. You can also buy lavender plants there in the summer and visit the still house and learn about essential oil distillation and lavender bud production. The farm boutique is open 10am-5pm Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend.
Come and shop in downtown Sequim’s unique destination for all things lavender. This modern boutique in the old Sequim Trading Company Plaza features over 100 types of handcrafted modern lavender gifts and products. Olympic Lavender Co. is a USDA certified organic processor of essential oils and other great lavender based products. The downtown shop is open year round from 10am to 5pm.
