Sequim, Washington, is recognized throughout the United States and around the world as home to a wide variety of lavender as well as lavender farms and gift shops. The first lavender farms in the valley started in 1995. The annual festival started soon thereafter, and the rest is history! Often referred to as America’s Provence, the Sequim-Dungeness Valley provides the ideal growing climate for this very versatile and beautiful herb, and our farms and gift shops love sharing this beauty with our visitors.
These farms and gift shops have partnered together to bring you the ultimate lavender experience – the Sequim Lavender Experience. All of these farms and gift shops are open throughout the summer, and many extend their hours to encompass much of the year. Although lavender’s “peak season” may vary slightly from year to year based on the weather, visitors are likely to find various lavenders in bloom from early June through late August.
In addition to these farms and gift shops, there are a wide variety of other small businesses within the valley who have partnered with the farms to welcome visitors to the area. From restaurants to lodging to boutique shops and local attractions, Sequim welcomes you to explore all that our unique small town has to offer.
Even after harvest has been completed and the lavender plants have been pruned back for the winter, the farmers are not idle. There is product to be made, equipment to be maintained, and plans to be made for the next growing season and the events that are hosted on the farms throughout the summer.
We invite you to make your plans to come and enjoy the Sequim Lavender Experience. Whether you choose to join us for one of our many events, or whether you choose to come when it’s a bit quieter on the farms, we look forward to welcoming you.
